Role Overview: The Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) plays a critical role in proactive customer management, education, and the development of strategies for profitable growth and retention of our client base. In this position, you will implement effective enrollment solutions aimed at maximizing participation and premium, minimizing expenses, and enhancing Unum's product offerings. Key Responsibilities: Proactively manage and educate clients before and after sales, focusing on retention and growth Serve as the primary point of contact for customers Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, enrollment firms, and clients Craft and implement customer-specific business plans, collaborating with the Home Office when necessary Deliver exceptional service to your assigned customer block Oversee all post-sale activities, including implementation, service, and problem resolution Facilitate communication with the Home Office for escalated support including billing and claims Navigate and address challenges clients face, such as mergers or layoffs Drive growth of the in-force block through strategic initiatives like renewals and cross-selling Work with the sales team to manage pre-renewal communications for enhanced effectiveness Coordinate and manage enrollment events and results, inclusive of expenses Utilize Unum's enrollment capabilities and communicate strategies to partners Collaborate closely with local Benefit Counselors for effective enrollment Manage participation in local benefits fairs Establish relationships with enrollment firms for larger clients Provide regular customer updates and relay broker feedback to enhance service Create and present renewal proposals focusing on retention and profitability Facilitate seamless transitions between teams for efficient enrollment processes Perform additional duties as needed Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience Preferably experience in the employee benefits industry Insurance sales license required within 90 days of hire/promotional date Strong sales and growth-oriented mindset In-depth knowledge of Unum's product and service offerings Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Strong technical skills with the ability to leverage technology Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and presentation capabilities Strong strategic thinking and tactical execution ability Effective organizational skills to manage multiple priorities Excellent problem-solving abilities Confidence and enthusiasm in client interactions Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written Strong business acumen and relationship management skills Proven ability to manage conflicts and deliver results Willingness to travel as needed #LI-FF1 -IN1 Unum and Colonial Life are subsidiaries of Unum Group, a Fortune 500 company and a leading employee benefits provider worldwide.
