Description: We have two operating departments with a total of 33 rooms. One department is focused on level one trauma, while the other accommodates both inpatient and outpatient procedures. Your main base will be in a seven-room unit, with the possibility to float to the main operating room when needed. Obligations include two weekend call shifts and six shifts from 11:00 AM to 7:45 PM per six-week schedule, with no other weekend obligations. The typical load in the seven-room unit includes general surgeries such as hernias, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and gastrointestinal work. Colorectal procedures include open and laparoscopic bowel resections, with some robotic assistance. Gynecological surgeries encompass oncological and benign procedures, including laparoscopic and robotic techniques, D&C, hysteroscopy, LEEP, and tubal ligations. Urological procedures involve cystoscopy, stent placement, TURB, TURP, PCNL, HoLEP, open, laparoscopic, and robotic nephrectomies and cystectomies, as well as gender affirmation surgeries such as phalloplasty. Breast surgeries include biopsies and mastectomies with node involvement and reconstruction. Eye surgeries occur approximately three times a month and include plastic surgery, cataract removal, and vitrectomies. Brachytherapy procedures involve assisting with device insertion, primarily conducted by the radiation oncology team. Plastic surgeries are typically related to breast or gender affirmation procedures. Uro-Gyn surgeries involve slings and anterior-posterior repairs. Robotic surgeries are mostly performed in urology and gynecology, with some bariatric procedures. The unit operates Monday through Friday and typically completes procedures by 7:00 - 8:00 PM. If the unit ends early, staff may float to the main operating room to finish the day or assist in other areas. The main operating room performs a wide range of services, including orthopedic, vascular, ENT, general oncological, transplant, neurosurgery, thoracic, cardiac, and trauma procedures.
