In this dynamic role, you will review medication care plans, assess medical necessity, and evaluate prior authorization prescriptions. Your clinical expertise will help you navigate complex scenarios and apply evidence-based guidelines to promote optimal medication use. Key Responsibilities: Perform thorough reviews to confirm medication appropriateness and establish medical necessity. Evaluate utilization patterns to pinpoint unusual trends and propose actionable insights. Offer clinical support and guidance to patients and healthcare providers, fostering cost-effective medication practices. Collaborate with teams to create innovative solutions utilizing strong problem-solving abilities. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited pharmacy school. Current pharmacist license within your state of residency. Eligibility to participate in federal prescription programs (e.g., Medicare/Medicaid). Independent and collaborative work skills, with a proactive mindset. Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and productivity. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, clinical decision support tools, pharmacy benefit management platforms, and electronic health records. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in managed care pharmacy, particularly within utilization management review settings. Work Environment: This role is remote, allowing you to work from home. However, occasional training or meetings may require travel to Humana's offices. It's essential to have a dedicated workspace that ensures the protection of member PHI/HIPAA information. Compensation and Benefits: The base pay for this position is between $104,000 to $143,000 annually, based on experience and geographic location.
