Description Position Summary: Ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations to include: manage inbound and outbound shipments for domestic distribution, consumer and CPK business units, dispatch driver(s), provide rates, and answer calls. Promptly address and resolve daily logistic issues in a timely manner. Manage and coordinate daily work activities of Logistics team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Coordinate all in-bound and out-bound dispatching of tank trucks and box vans. - Schedule loading times at refineries/tank storage facilities - Schedule unloading times at SolvChem for inbound shipments - Schedule all LTL and FTL with third party carriers. - Coordinate delivery of inbound shipments in accordance of Production Planning requirements - Provide rate quotes for requesting parties. - Update shipping information with facility addresses and loading requirements in Chempax system. - Track late deliveries, missed deliveries, and communicate with procurement and sales teams. - Coordinate logistics for change orders issued by purchasing or sales departments. - Manage paperwork with carriers and weight ticket from suppliers. - Track demurrage, wash out fees and additional accessorial charges. - Coordinate box-van trailers for packaged loads, schedule pick up of empty containers. - Coordinate tanker truck loads for bulk product deliveries. - Prepare driver paperwork packets for local deliveries. - Assist with monitoring driver logs, dispatch reports, fuel usage/consumption. - Assist with carrier RD audit requirements and logs. - Manage GAMA and yard mule drivers. - Generate freight cost analysis. - Obtain direct shipment weight tickets along with proof of delivery and file in R:/ - Keep all necessary parties up to date with any/all needed information. - Other duties as assigned by management. Education & Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent required. - Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field a plus - Requires 1 year of experience in the Warehouse/ Distribution, or related experience, Chemical background preferred. - Preferred: 5+ years' experience in dispatching and trailer pool management, transportation expense and service level tracking. - International freight experience a plus. - Familiarity with relevant rules, regulations and standards - Preferred: DOT and IATA Training - Preferred: Chempax Knowledge or other Chemical Software experience - Proficiency with PC, MS Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) Knowledge & Skills Requirements: - Attributes consistent with company culture; safety, customer service, integrity, continuous improvement. - Leadership and strong verbal, oral and written communication skills - Ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of the organization - Should be analytical, detail-oriented, flexible, and decisive. - Analytical aptitude, commitment to accuracy and quality, problem solving skills, attention to detail. - Efficiency, productivity, strong organizational skills and accuracy - Time management, with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure. - Eagerness to learn new things and maintain a positive attitude toward changes and new challenges. - Openness to new responsibilities and willingness to shift focus. - Skilled at interfacing regularly with customers via phone/email to address questions and complaints. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Proactive disposition with strong follow through skills - Demonstrate initiative and ability to handle multiple deadlines. - Assist in development, monitoring, and adherence to department budgets.
