This role involves managing and processing workers' compensation claims with a strong focus on New York jurisdictional regulations and processes. Key Responsibilities: Independent Claims Management: Handle a capped caseload of workers' compensation claims from initiation to resolution while adhering to company procedures and regulatory requirements. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with New York workers' compensation laws, including timely reporting and benefit payments. Settlement Negotiation: Negotiate settlements within your authority to achieve resolution efficiently. Clear Communication: Maintain effective communication with claimants and clients throughout the claims process. Documentation: Keep precise and comprehensive records in the claims management system, reflecting all actions and correspondences. Office Location: This position offers a hybrid work schedule for candidates within 25 miles of the Syracuse, NY office, allowing you to work from home 3 days a week. For those outside of this radius, remote work opportunities are available. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 2 years in workers' compensation claims handling, with a deep understanding of New York jurisdictional regulations. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree or relevant certifications (e.g., WCCP, AIC) are advantageous. Skills: Proficient in claims processes, strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical capabilities, and multitasking abilities. Familiarity with claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite is required. Actual compensation depends on various factors including skill set and level of experience. For this role, the starting pay range is $85k-$95k.
