About the Opportunity: Join GPAC as we search for a skilled Steel Estimator to become a vital part of a renowned steel fabrication and erection company known for its high-quality structural and miscellaneous metalwork. This full-time, direct-hire position offers excellent growth potential in a collaborative and detail-oriented team environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals, including but not limited to stairs, railings, and catwalks. Thoroughly analyze construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to ensure accuracy in bids. Conduct material takeoffs and produce precise quantity estimates. Request pricing from vendors and subcontractors for materials and services needed. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams throughout the bidding process. Utilize industry-standard estimating software to craft detailed proposals and bid packages. Engage in bid reviews and discussions on value-engineering initiatives. Monitor project changes and revise estimates as needed to reflect new information. Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years of estimating experience in steel fabrication and/or erection. In-depth knowledge of structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals is essential. Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings. Proficient in industry software such as Tekla, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Fabtrol, or similar. Competent with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word). Detail-oriented, analytical, and strong with time management. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Field experience in steel erection or fabrication is a valuable asset. Familiarity with project management workflows and fabrication processes is advantageous.
