Description POINTBANK INDIRECT LENDING ASSISTANT Promote, market, and facilitate the overall sale of products of the bank. Contribute to the bank's growth by the effective sale of bank services to new and existing customers with emphasis on courteous and professional service. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE This position reports directly to the VP Director of Automotive Lending & SVP/Sr. Credit Officer. This position reports indirectly to the SVP/Sr. Lending Officer and the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Risk Officer. FLSA STATUS This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the FLSA. OVERVIEW The purpose of this position is to: Provide support to the VP Director of Automotive Lending in order to facilitate continued growth and maintain portfolio performance. Coordinate with loan operations and auto dealerships to follow up on missing documents needed to fund applications. In the absence or direction of the loan officer decision submitted applications in a timely manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Follow policies and procedures to facilitate processing for all non-real estate (commercial, construction, residential, etc), commercial equipment, and aircraft loans and complete all transactions in unison with loan officer; be a liaison between Loan Officer and Loan Operations. Facilitate processing and loan document preparation for all consumer and commercial non-real estate loans. Ensure that all required documentation is present in the loan request as contained in the consumer/commercial request checklist. Booking of consumer and commercial loans/make entries. Funding control-Verify exception approvals/entries prior to release of loan for booking. Prepare and give to the SVP/Sr. Credit Officer the booking checklist within 72 hours of booking. Ensure that necessary approval has been obtained and scanned with the loan file. Verify data input on new and renewed loans. Maintain a productive work flow and work as a member of a professional team. Scanning and verifying loan files and any other documentation, as needed, in imaging system. Set-up and monitor loan documentation exception tracking and clearing. Collateral maintenance; processing vehicle title registrations and filing UCC Financing Statements/Continuations. Quote and process loan payoffs. Maintain consumer credit disclosure mailings within regulations Make a welcome call with new customers within 7 days of their auto loan funding. Ensure the customer knows when and how to make their first payment. Verify customer insurance coverage meets our requirements. Make contact with customers as needed to ensure compliance. Decision applications from auto dealers in a timely manner. Interpret consumer credit reports to minimize risk. Strong communication skill on the phone or email/text are required. Ability to make sound business decisions, in a sometimes fast paced environment, to capture new business within established policy and follow SOP. Strong negotiation skills required. Including the ability to say no. Some evening and Saturday hours are required. Cross train in all areas of the department and rotate duties periodically. Train on new tasks as they are assigned to the department. Troubleshoot and provide assistance to employees/customers on any inquiries, customer service issues, disputes, etc. Attend all meetings and complete all training required to ensure regulatory compliance. Comply with all applicable Federal and State regulations and guidance associated with the performance of your job function. Comply with all applicable BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures associated with the performance of your job function, including participation in required training and identifications of suspicious activity. Perform other duties and assignments within the bank at Management's request; accept periodic cross-training, works in other branches if needed. Stooping/Crouching-O Standing/Walking-F Sitting-F Pushing/Pulling/Lifting-O Fingering/Grasping-F Repetitive Motions-F Talking/Hearing-F Reading/Writing-F Close Visual Acuity-worker is required to perform such tasks as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, or viewing a computer terminal.
