McElroy is seeking a driven and inquisitive Mechanical Engineer to support the development of innovative mechanical systems and components. This role is ideal for early-career engineers who are eager to apply fundamental engineering principles, grow their design skills, and contribute to full product life-cycle development, from concept and prototyping to manufacturing and product launch. The ideal candidate is collaborative, resourceful, and motivated to learn. They should be comfortable working across disciplines and balancing hands-on problem-solving with detailed design work. Responsibilities Support full life-cycle product development, including concept design, prototyping, and implementation Assist in the design of mechanical systems and the selection of components for mobile mechanical systems. Create mechanical drawings, schematics, and documentation to support design intent and manufacturing. Conduct and support experiments, collect data, and summarize results for review by senior engineers. Participate in testing and validation activities to assess design performance and functionality. Troubleshoot and help resolve mechanical design challenges as they arise during development Contribute to evaluations of product reliability, durability, and safety. Implement design modifications under guidance to meet specifications and address performance issues. Assist with estimating project scope, timelines, and cost considerations. Gather feedback from field operators and incorporate learnings into design improvements. Collaborate with vendors to support component selection and cost optimization. Prepare engineering reports, test summaries, and documentation for project records. Engage in continuous learning to develop engineering skills, tools proficiency, and design expertise. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering required. 0 to 4 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or related engineering work. Foundational understanding of mechanical systems, machines, mechanisms, and principles. Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and engineering sketches. Basic to intermediate proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms. Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including technicians, engineers, and procurement staff. Ability to work in both office and shop environments. Some tasks may require bending, squatting, climbing, or hand-on interaction with large-scale equipment Occasional domestic travel may be required Ability to move between multiple buildings across a large campus.
