Location: Hybrid - Nashville, TN Type: Full-Time THE ROLE We are hiring a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer who has demonstrable experience designing, building, and operating production-grade, data-intensive systems in regulated environments. This is not a feature-factory role. You will be expected to make architectural decisions, own critical systems end-to-end, and raise the technical bar of the engineering organization. You will work on the core platform powering our healthcare SaaS products-systems that securely ingest, transform, and serve clinical and operational data at scale. Success in this role requires strong judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to balance speed, correctness, and compliance (HIPAA, HITRUST). WHAT YOU WILL OWN Architecture and implementation of scalable, cloud-native services supporting healthcare data workflows Design of data models and relational database schemas that support complex, evolving healthcare use cases Development of secure, standards-compliant APIs and services (FHIR, HL7, REST) End-to-end responsibility for data pipelines ingesting data from EHRs and third-party systems Technical decision-making around performance, scalability, reliability, and security tradeoffs Enforcement of engineering standards through code reviews, design reviews, and CI/CD practices Collaboration with product, data, and security teams to ensure systems are correct, compliant, and maintainable Continuous improvement of system observability, failure handling, and operational resilience WHAT WE EXPECT FROM A SENIOR ENGINEER You have designed systems, not just implemented tickets You can explain why a system was built a certain way and what you would change with more time You are comfortable being accountable for code running in production You proactively identify risks before they become incidents You raise the quality of the codebase and the people around you REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 7+ years of professional software development experience with senior-level ownership 3+ years working on data-centric systems Deep experience with PHP and Python in production Strong SQL expertise with MySQL and PostgreSQL Experience implementing secure systems with encryption and access controls Ability to independently design, implement, test, and deploy production services STRONGLY PREFERRED Experience with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) Experience integrating with EHR platforms or healthcare APIs Background in microservices or event-driven architectures Experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) Prior work in HIPAA/HITRUST-regulated environments Security-minded development experience INTERVIEW PROCESS Candidates who qualify based on their experience and background will be invited to a first-round virtual interview.
