Job Description

As a Lead Vegetation Management Foreman, you will play a crucial role in supervising and coordinating vegetation management crews to ensure their work is executed safely, efficiently, and in line with quality standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work Direction and Oversight Prepare and oversee project work to maximize efficiency and productivity. Schedule and mobilize labor, equipment, and materials as needed. Provide Crew Leaders with instructions on work processes, procedures, and locations. Conduct frequent site inspections to ensure compliance with standards, productivity, and safety. Collaborate with utility foresters and inspectors to clarify specifications and address customer inquiries. Manage permissioning processes as appropriate. Handle customer or property owner complaints with professionalism. Monitor material consumption effectively. Organize crew mobilization during storm-damage responses. Experience in operating heavy clearing equipment is advantageous. Work Site Safety Lead safety initiatives to protect employees, customers, and the public. Coach Crew Leaders in enforcing safety practices such as personal protective equipment, traffic control, and emergency response. Ensure employees receive proper training and guidance to perform their jobs safely. Acknowledge safe work practices and provide corrective feedback on at-risk behaviors promptly. Ensure employees have necessary safety equipment for their tasks. Lead investigations of accidents and incidents, taking necessary remedial actions, and assisting with post-accident investigations when serious incidents occur. Personnel Management Focus on training and developing crew members. Work with Crew Leaders to conduct skill assessments for new hires and support skill-based advancements. Ensure comprehensive training is provided for job assignments, including orientation purposes. Review and communicate performance expectations, offering constructive feedback for improvement. Promote professionalism through licensing and participation in relevant professional development activities. Communication Share company values and business vision with employees, clarifying policies and procedures. Act as the communication link between employees and the corporate office. Respond promptly to employee needs and concerns with discretion. Discipline and Conflict Resolution Mediation of employee conflicts to serve the best interest of all parties and the organization. Administer disciplinary actions when necessary. Leadership Set an example for professional conduct, demonstrating expected behaviors. Encourage motivation to achieve safety, efficiency, and quality benchmarks. Administrative Functions Maintain documentation regarding man-hours, equipment usage, material inventories, accident reports, permissions, and customer records. Coordinate with the Billing Department to guarantee accurate billing to customers. Review weekly timesheets and approve exceptional expenses as necessary. Computer Skills Proficiency in basic computer tasks and software, including Internet usage, spreadsheets, and word processing, is required. CDL License and Herbicide License preferred. Rate of Pay: Competitive and based on skills and experience. Work Area: Travel will be required, and candidates must be flexible for work location changes based on contract requirements. Work Schedule: Alternating schedule with another manager, working Monday-Thursday and Tuesday-Friday. (During daylight savings, the schedule includes five 8-hour days).
