Telecommunications Circuit Activation Specialist

Join our dynamic team as a Telecommunications Circuit Activation Specialist! In this essential role, you will oversee the installation of equipment and the activation of service orders, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless network maintenance. Your skills will make a significant impact on our operations! Your responsibilities will include: Conducting formal acceptance testing for telecommunications products and services in alignment with program standards. Implementing and assessing installation and testing standards for various telecommunications equipment, including TDM, PDH, SDH, SONET, and IP architectures. Troubleshooting IP network configurations with intermediate expertise (CCNA certification or equivalent experience). Understanding of data protocols including TCP/IP, DMVPN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EIGRP, HSRP, IS-IS, LDP, PIM, MSDP, and Ethernet. Engaging with customers and collaborating with Telco providers and field technicians. Testing, troubleshooting, and validating communication circuits to meet IEEE, ITU, TIA, and ISO standards. Working with engineering teams to resolve implementation and acceptance challenges. Executing Maintenance Request (MR) activities to conform to program requirements. Facilitating service disconnects based on customer requests through established protocols. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate degree with at least 2 years. Candidates with at least 8 years of related experience are also welcome to apply. Networking experience is essential. Preferred: 3+ years of experience with SONET equipment and Optical Circuits, particularly with Cisco ONS-15310, ONS-15454, and Fujitsu Flashwave 4500/9500 platforms. Eligibility for a security clearance is required. Preferred Additional Skills: Thorough knowledge of NAS Operations ticket management and scheduled maintenance processes. Technical expertise in Gigabit Ethernet/Fast Ethernet, DS1/T1, DS3, VT1.5, VTV, STS1, STSV, OC3-OC192 circuit types, along with associated provisioning and acceptance testing processes. Keen understanding of trouble tickets, ticket management, and Change Management processes is highly beneficial. Experience with Cisco Prime Optical (CPO), Cisco Transport Controller (CTC), and Fujitsu NetSmart. Familiarity with MetaSolv and DICE is preferred. MEF-CECP certification is an added advantage. This position is located in Melbourne, FL. Non-local candidates will receive compensation adjustments for this long-term assignment.
