Leverage your expertise in interventional cardiology to profoundly impact patient care beyond the clinical realm. We offer flexible scheduling options, including part-time and full-time opportunities. Your Responsibilities: Conduct expert reviews on cardiovascular cases as a specialty-matched reviewer for interventional cardiology situations. Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with treating providers to ensure care aligns with clinical guidelines. Collaborate with leadership and clinical staff on complex cases to enhance decision-making. Serve as a key resource for Initial Clinical Reviewers, guiding them to adopt best practices. Provide clinical rationale for standard and expedited appeals. Discuss determinations with requesting physicians or ordering providers in a timely manner. Utilize clinical review guidelines to maintain consistency in MD review processes, ensuring compliance with policies and accreditation standards. Document all communications with medical office staff and physicians accurately and promptly. Participate in training to uphold inter-rater reliability. Assist in research activities related to the Utilization Management process when needed. As requested, function as Medical Director for specific health plans or regions, aiding in utilization management alongside the Senior Medical Director. Qualifications: MD/DO/MBBS Degree. Current, unrestricted medical license in your specialty. Maintaining medical licenses based on state requirements. Active Board Certification in Interventional Cardiology, or alternatively: Active Board Certification in Cardiology with proof of past certification in Interventional Cardiology. Active Board Certification in Cardiology with evidence of 5+ years of practice as an Interventional Cardiologist. Excellent clinical, management, communication, and organizational skills. An energetic and inquisitive attitude with a passion for quality and value in healthcare. Proficient in computer skills. A minimum of five (5) years' experience in Cardiology is preferred. Not under current sanction or exclusion from any state or federal healthcare programs. No record of major disciplinary or legal actions by medical boards. To ensure a secure hiring process, we will require identity verification steps, including a photo ID. All candidates must complete a background check and may need to undergo drug screening prior to employment. Use of AI tools during interviews is prohibited. Misrepresentation will lead to immediate disqualification. Technical Requirements: Employees must have high-speed internet over 10 Mbps and be able to connect directly to their home internet router for remote work. The expected salary range for this position is $120-$140/hr, with potential bonuses based on performance factors.
