CDL Truck Driver for Container Transport

Job Summary The CDL Truck Driver will safely operate a heavy-duty crane mounted truck, responsible for loading and transporting material containers to and from customer locations. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are key to this role, as drivers navigate driveways and alleyways as well as high-traffic roadways. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate vehicles in compliance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and DOT regulations. Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections; document checks on the DVIR. Report unsafe situations or service-related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch. Participate in all training programs, briefings, and meetings required by WM. Work closely with Operations Managers to enhance route efficiencies. Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage. Communicate customer requests effectively to Operations Manager or Dispatch. Complete and submit customer tickets as necessary. Perform site evaluations to ensure safe servicing locations. Position and return containers on customer property properly. Follow assigned routes and complete end-of-day documentation. Assist fellow drivers as needed to meet customer demands. III. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory duties. IV. Qualifications A. Education and Experience No formal education required. Must have at least 1 year of CDL driving experience or equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years. B. Certifications and Licenses Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an air brake endorsement. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Minimum age requirement of 18 years. Ability to physically perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations. Pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and DOT physical. Complete classroom training and demonstrate safe crane operation skills. C. Skills and Abilities No additional skills required. V. Work Environment Motor coordination and dexterity is essential. Physical effort includes handling objects over 50 pounds frequently. May require pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting of up to 50 pounds. Work environment typically involves outdoor settings and operating a GPS-monitored vehicle. Will encounter dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes during work hours. The expected base pay rate for this essential position is $25.50 per hour. Salary may vary based on experience and location.
