Job Description Chief Estimator for Steel Construction We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Chief Estimator with a respected company specializing in steel construction. Our client focuses on the installation of heavy structural steel in the commercial construction sector, primarily dealing with projects valued at over $100M+. In this pivotal role, you will lead a talented team, driving the estimation process for significant steel erection projects. Qualifications: At least 10 years of experience estimating structural steel erection projects Experience with Heavy Steel Construction projects over 5,000 Tons Strong understanding of current AISC structural codes and standards Exceptional skills in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Responsibilities: Prepare and thoroughly review estimates for accuracy Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients Manage project budgets and timelines effectively Monitor and address changes in project scope Ensure comprehensive coverage of all materials, labor, and equipment costs in estimates Conduct precise material takeoffs Assist in crafting and executing cost-effective strategies Key Functions: Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications with great detail Build and sustain strong client, vendor, and subcontractor relationships Identify discrepancies between estimates and actual costs Track project progress and suggest adjustments as needed Generate accurate estimates, bids, and proposals for diverse projects Analyze costs associated with materials, labor, and equipment for precision Compensation and Benefits: Competitive base salary ranging from $140,000 to $175,000+ 401k plan with a generous 4% company match Paid Time Off (PTO) and recognized holidays We value diversity and welcome all qualified applicants, regardless of race, age, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other protected status.
