Job Description Join our team as an Automation Controls Engineer! This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to plant-wide automation, instrumentation, and control systems. Your expertise will play a vital role in capital projects, system upgrades, and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives in a dynamic and high-volume manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Program, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI control systems Support automation, instrumentation, and software projects across the plant Design and implement control system upgrades and integrations Troubleshoot manufacturing and utility systems including steam, water, and air Support capital projects from initial concept through to commissioning Read and interpret electrical and control schematics effectively Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, production, and leadership teams Interface with vendors, contractors, and system integrators Document systems, changes, and adhere to technical standards Provide training for plant personnel on new and upgraded automation systems Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and food safety standards Qualifications High School Diploma required; Technical Degree or Bachelor's preferred Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting PLC-based systems Strong experience with Allen-Bradley control platforms Proven ability to troubleshoot automation and operational issues Excellent communication, documentation, and follow-through skills Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment involving stairs, ladders, confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Preferred Technical Skills Experience with ControlLogix processors Proficient in RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000 Knowledge of FactoryTalk SE Experience with Wonderware (HMI, Servers, Historian) Familiarity with Allen-Bradley VFDs (particularly the 525 series) Experience with Stratix managed switches Understanding of process utilities (steam, water, air) Knowledgeable in AC/DC drives and industrial machine controls Experience in budgeting and project cost tracking This company offers competitive compensation, robust benefits, and long-term career growth opportunities within a stable and expanding organization.
