Position Overview - CDL Class B Driver We are thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for a CDL Class B Driver within our Orica USA Commercial team. This key role involves driving and operating Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) while installing blasting products for our customers at nearby construction sites, mines, and quarries. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment, reflecting our commitment to safety and environmentally responsible practices. This is a hybrid role composed of approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work related to the installation of blasting products, including loading product, operating vehicles, and managing equipment while working in various weather conditions. Work Schedule Monday through Friday Local driving (2-3 hours per trip) Early morning start times, approximately 4-5 AM Work approximately 10-12 hours per day, with required overtime Up to 10% of overnight travel may be necessary Key Responsibilities Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including fluid level checks. Safely connect and disconnect trailers. Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks as part of daily responsibilities. Ensure safe handling, storage, and use of raw materials and hazardous goods in compliance with safety regulations. Strive to minimize environmental impact through effective waste management practices. Report any unusual incidents or accidents immediately. Engage in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings to foster a safe work environment. Qualifications Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling (preferred). Solid understanding of DOT regulations (required). Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team. Excellent attention to detail and fundamental math skills for managing inventory. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and urgent situations efficiently. Physical Requirements Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more. Ability to load products, pull large hoses, fill drilled holes, and climb on/off trucks. Frequent shoveling of gravel and other physical tasks throughout the day. Regular pushing and pulling while using equipment, along with frequent bending and squatting. Your Qualifications Valid Class B CDL required (Class A is a plus). Tanker endorsement preferred. Hazmat endorsement preferred. Willingness to obtain necessary endorsements with support provided. High school diploma or equivalent required. Compensation Hourly Pay Range: $25-28 Signing Bonus: $4,500 (Salary is determined based on experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and alignment with market data.)
