Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVOR Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, evenings, nights Employment Type: Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR) Location: Austin, TX Contract Duration: 13–26 Weeks (03/29/2026 – 06/27/2026) Shift: Weekend Nights (19:00 – 07:30) | Friday, Saturday, Sunday Job Summary: The flagship high-acuity facility for the Seton healthcare family, is seeking an elite-level CVOR Certified Surgical Technologist. This role is specifically for a "plug-and-play" professional capable of handling complex cardiothoracic and vascular emergencies independently during weekend night hours. ASMCA is a robust cardiac center with a high-volume program including transplants and mechanical circulatory support. Key Responsibilities Cardiac Scrub Excellence: Provide expert scrub support for high-stakes procedures including CABG, heart transplantation, valve replacements, and aortic dissection repairs. Mechanical Support: Assist in the placement of Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP), and adult ECMO cannulation. Vascular & Endovascular: Assist in the endovascular OR for TAVR procedures, as well as peripheral vascular repairs and ESRD graft/fistula revisions. Thoracic Surgery: Scrub for open, laparoscopic, and robot-assisted thoracic cases. Independence: Manage the sterile field for concurrent procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) without requiring additional training or oversight. Requirements & Qualifications Experience: Minimum 3 years of recent, full-time CVOR experience in a high-volume hospital. Certification: Must hold an active CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) credential. Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular service lines. Must be able to "hit the ground running." References: Must provide verifiable references from at least two prior travel assignments confirming no training was needed. Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Life Support: Current BLS (American Heart Association) required. Unit & Facility Details Department: Surgery 001 (27400) - CVOR Service Line. Suite Capacity: 4–6 specialized ORs, including a dedicated endovascular suite. Location: Austin, TX 78705. Team Dynamic: High-stakes environment requiring rapid response to emergency bypass and transplant cases. Financial & Logistics Notes Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week options available. Position Status: This is a Critical Order (Urgency Level 1). On-Call: While the primary shift is weekend nights, call coverage for the service line after normal business hours and weekends may be required. Flexibility: While the job description mentions weekday 11a-11:30p, the specific shift for this contract is Weekend Nights (Fri/Sat/Sun 7p-7a).
