Job Description: JOB SUMMARY As an Account Executive II, you will play a vital role in driving the retention, growth, and profitability of a diverse customer base, including medium, large, and key accounts. In this dynamic position, you will negotiate financial renewals, assist in new business sales, oversee contract negotiations, resolve client issues, and facilitate implementation effectively. This role covers territories in California, Arizona, and New Mexico. We seek an individual with a strong background in Account Management and Insurance, particularly someone experienced with labor and trust groups. Bilingual candidates are highly preferred. ESSENCE OF THE ROLE Account Planning & Management: Create and implement renewal strategies to maximize customer retention and UCD profitability. Assess products and networks while strategically positioning against competitors. Identify growth opportunities and collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and provider relations to deliver optimal solutions. Manage open enrollment needs and ensure compliance with document requirements. Relationship Management: Cultivate robust relationships with customers to enhance their understanding of UCD's value. Develop strategies to boost customer satisfaction and improve producer/consultant knowledge. Sales: Negotiate renewals directly or with producers/consultants to meet retention and profitability goals. Engage in strategic positioning during RFP responses, conduct presentations for both existing and new clients, and continuously educate stakeholders on UCD products and capabilities. Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other tasks as assigned by management. EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management or a related field. Substitutions: 6 years of progressive related experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree. PREFERRED EDUCATION Master's Degree in Business Administration/Management or a related field. EXPERIENCE Required: 2-5 years of proven experience in Account Management, Sales, Marketing, or a Client Facing position. Preferred: 2-5 years of experience in the Insurance Industry, especially in Employee Benefits. Proficient in MS Office Products or SalesForce. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Required: State specific Producer License in Accident & Health or obtain it within 90 days from the hire date. Valid Driver’s License. Preferred: None. SKILLS Outstanding ability to build client relationships and influence decisions. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence decision-makers effectively. Proven ability to provide new insights and learning to customers and partners. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Robust business acumen. Effective communication and presentation skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Adept at developing and executing business plans to meet targets. Self-motivated and capable of independently resolving customer issues while ensuring satisfaction. Results-oriented with a passion for learning. Language Requirement: Spanish preferred. Travel Requirement: 35% - 40%. WORK ENVIRONMENT Office-based position with frequent travel to customer sites. Regularly sells products/services out of the office and requires physical work at client locations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lifting requirements may include up to 50 pounds on occasion.
