Job Summary Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. prioritizes a customer engagement strategy that is designed to effectively address the evolving needs of patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers. The Area Business Lead will report to the respective Sr. Business Director (SBD) and will operate within a defined regional area. SBDs hold significant autonomy to tailor strategies to meet localized market demands. Purpose The Area Business Lead is responsible for providing strategic vision and leadership across cross-functional teams, guiding the development and execution of a comprehensive ecosystem business plan. This role is critical in establishing partnerships within key care systems to drive collaborative value for Otsuka, customers, and the patients served. Key Responsibilities Work collaboratively with the cross-functional team to devise and implement the ecosystem strategy aimed at boosting customer satisfaction, enhancing patient outcomes, and creating lucrative business opportunities. Develop and steer the commercial strategy for the ecosystem. Lead Neuroscience Specialists to stimulate proper clinical demand and heighten patient and customer experiences. Adapt and execute the regional ecosystem plan to achieve objectives centered on patient care, KPIs, and performance metrics. Continuously assess industry trends to incorporate best practices into Otsuka through innovative account management processes. Collect and analyze insights from the field force and other sources to inform and enhance regional business strategies. Mentor Neuroscience Specialists in formulating customer strategies aligned with market dynamics to fulfill needs effectively. Collaborate with ecosystem partners to design and implement customer engagement strategies that integrate insights from extensive market research and external customer interactions. Build and maintain crucial relationships within the healthcare ecosystem to understand customer needs and optimize patient and business outcomes. Work with senior leaders within the ecosystem to strengthen ongoing relationships and create patient-centric partnerships. Understand and address the specific needs of customers to improve quality of care and reduce costs through collaborative solution development. Engage in cross-functional collaboration to meet shared patient care and customer engagement objectives. Leverage expert insights from established networks to thoroughly understand and influence the healthcare ecosystem for better patient outcomes. Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards in line with Otsuka's principles, ensuring strict compliance in all communications. Champion a dynamic, patient-focused culture within the ecosystem. Foster a collaborative and customer-focused environment to continuously enhance engagement and satisfaction. Provide inspiring leadership and coaching to the team, motivating them to achieve business objectives and priorities. Ensure regional sales goals align with the long-term strategic objectives of the organization. Conduct thorough business analyses to uncover strategic opportunities aimed at maximizing outcomes in collaboration with Otsuka teams. Monitor customer experiences within the ecosystem to refine engagement strategies effectively. Encourage a cross-functional collaborative culture to engage customers as partners across our portfolio. Experience & Qualifications Bachelor's degree; MBA or related advanced degree preferred. Demonstrated experience leading account managers or partnership managers, particularly in developing and executing account plans. Experience in commercial life sciences or related fields, engaging with key players in the healthcare ecosystem is advantageous. Ability to navigate and thrive in a fast-paced, transforming environment is a plus. Proven success in coaching and mentoring colleagues to achieve and exceed their goals. Track record of consistently meeting or surpassing financial and qualitative objectives. In-depth knowledge of strategic development and contracting strategy is highly regarded. Experience in field sales management and/or marketing within the Neuroscience or Nephrology sectors is preferred. Strong grasp of the healthcare compliance and regulatory landscape. Compensation Information The salary range for this position is a minimum of $157,700.00 to a maximum of $235,750.00, in addition to incentive opportunities. Actual pay may vary based on experience, skills, and comparison to current internal roles.
