About the Role: Oracle is seeking dynamic and talented PhD students for our GenAI Research Internship program. This opportunity is perfect for those eager to contribute to the evolution of next-generation cloud services at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The Team: Join the Oracle Generative AI Service team, where we are pioneering innovative cloud services that blend artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure. You will engage in building and operating scalable, high-performance systems using cutting-edge machine learning technologies, all while addressing complex challenges faced by our clients. Responsibilities: As a GenAI Research Intern, you will lead initiatives to construct distributed, scalable AI model training and serving systems while collaborating with applied scientists and software engineers. You will dive deep into model architecture to enhance performance and scalability, particularly focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Multi-modal Models. Your contributions will be crucial in developing Generative AI-enabled services tailored for large scale enterprise customers. Internship Details: This position is available from May-August or June-September 2026, and is based in our Redwood Shores, CA or Seattle, WA offices. Please note that you must be enrolled in a university before and after the internship period. Required Qualifications: Must be pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field during the 2025-2026 school year. Experience in one of the following areas: Natural Language Understanding, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Data Science. Strong publication record with contributions as a lead author or reviewer in reputable journals or conferences. Expected graduation date of May 2027 or later. Must reside in the US and be authorized to work in the US during 2026. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum GPA of 3.0.
