Join our dynamic team as a Construction Quality Inspector where your expertise will drive successful project outcomes! We are on the lookout for an experienced professional who excels in team collaboration and project management. Your role will support our water team on critical projects, empowering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Work closely with local leaders, engineers, and project designers, gaining valuable exposure to residential water tank sites and much more. The Construction Quality Inspector will be responsible for full-time surveillance and inspection of work on significant water or wastewater utility infrastructure projects. This role involves on-site monitoring, documentation of construction activities, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulations, with projects located throughout Ohio. Daily presence at project sites is a requirement. Primary Responsibilities: Monitor and document the progress of construction activities, including equipment and manpower usage. Interpret technical documents and codes to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards. Verify that materials and equipment conform to approved submittals. Coordinate daily construction interfaces with security and operational teams. Assist in the documentation and resolution of field issues alongside project management. Stay informed about project clarifications and changes. Oversee specialized testing and inspections as required. Prepare comprehensive daily construction reports and maintain accurate records of tests and inspections. Document work performance and variations from established schedules. Contribute to evaluating change order proposals. Support the Office Engineer with contractor payment requisitions as needed. Monitor safety compliance with site requirements during contractor work. 5+ years of experience in construction, management, or inspection is preferred. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, plans, specifications, and safety protocols. Effective written communication skills for timely documentation and reporting of site activities. Familiarity with Ohio Building Codes is essential. Ability to read and interpret construction schedules effectively. Willingness to work flexible hours to meet project demands. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Strong communication skills to interact with multiple stakeholders and subcontractors. Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills are necessary. OSHA 10-hour Construction Training certification is required. This is a full-time on-site position where you will report to designated field offices Monday through Friday, with the possibility of additional days. The role involves various physical requirements, including walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working near construction equipment. You will encounter diverse environmental conditions, including noise, dust, and temperature variations. Occasional travel may be necessary, and safety awareness around construction sites is vital.
