We are in search of a Director of Operational Risk to report directly to the VP of Financial & Operational Risk, playing a pivotal role in enhancing our global operational risk framework. This leadership position will work closely with Technology Risk, Enterprise Risk, and various product and engineering teams to ensure the effective identification and management of operational risks and resilience. Your contributions will be critical in safeguarding our business as it scales. Key Responsibilities: Lead the global Operational Risk function, advancing the second line of defense framework across the organization. Identify and assess operational risks by overseeing the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program, recommending priority controls to manage risk within acceptable limits. Develop and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) that provide data-driven insights into the company's operational health for senior leadership and the Board. Enhance the operational incident management process, conducting root cause analysis, scenario stress testing, and tracking remediation efforts to prevent future failures or losses. Evaluate the operational readiness and risk profile of new business initiatives. Manage Operational Resiliency, including business continuity and crisis management, ensuring we maintain critical services through disruptions while adhering to global standards and local regulations. Ideal Qualifications: 15+ years of operational risk management experience in a regulated financial institution or fintech. Extensive knowledge of ORM frameworks with a proven track record of implementing scalable programs. A collaborative approach while effectively challenging first-line owners. Exceptional communication skills to translate complex operational issues into actionable insights for senior stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, adept at navigating ambiguity, adapting in a high-growth environment, and driving effective solutions. Preferred Qualifications: Experience within the crypto industry. Advanced degree or professional risk certifications. PID: P75779 The target annual base salary for this position ranges from $245,140 to $288,400 USD, depending on your work location. Total compensation also includes equity and bonus eligibility, along with a comprehensive benefits package (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
