Part-Time Optometric Technician and Medical Assistant

As an Optometric Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience by assisting our optometrists with essential pre-screenings and testing before examinations. No prior optical experience is required as training will be provided! Your Responsibilities: Deliver exceptional patient care at all times. Maintain a clean and professional environment in both the doctor's office and pre-test area. Learn and understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations. Clearly explain the types of preliminary examinations to patients. Complete necessary paperwork and conduct tests on patients before they see the doctor. Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients. Assist with exam pre-screening tasks. Carefully review prescriptions and patient information to identify any special needs, consulting with the optician, doctor, or retail management as necessary. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and functioning. Are You a Good Fit? Experience in retail or optical settings is a plus, but not essential. Strong customer service skills are a must. Eagerness to acquire optical knowledge. Ability to communicate instructions clearly and concisely to customers. Effective interpersonal abilities. Excellent organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach. Capability to multitask and manage time efficiently. Professional demeanor and appearance.
