The Bus Driver ensures the safe, timely, and efficient operation of the school bus while maintaining a positive and professional environment for students.Key Responsibilities: Safe Transportation: Operate a school bus in accordance with established routes, schedules, and traffic regulations to transport students safely to and from school, field trips, and other district-approved activities. Student Supervision: Maintain order and discipline among students on the bus, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Address behavioral issues in accordance with district policies. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the Transportation Supervisor promptly. Compliance: Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, as well as Tipton School District policies and procedures, including those related to student safety and transportation. Communication: Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and the transportation department regarding schedules, route changes, or incidents. Emergency Preparedness: Respond calmly and efficiently to emergency situations, following district protocols for accidents, evacuations, or other incidents. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of routes, mileage, and student attendance as required by the district.
