Join us if you are passionate about your future. KPMG is looking for an Audit Intern to become a part of our Audit and Assurance team. Responsibilities: Collaborate with a team to conduct financial statement audits and enhance the accuracy and credibility of client financial data while upholding objectivity and independence. Contribute to client operations by understanding and assessing client-specific risks through the analysis of financial results, external information, emerging business trends, and transactions, particularly for Korean clients or companies needing strategic support in Korea. Learn how to compile clear and well-organized audit documentation that reflects our understanding of client processes and technology systems. With guidance, execute and record testing of client controls and financial statement account balances using pertinent standards and terminology. Contribute to the execution of high-quality audits through assigned tasks and professional interactions with clients and engagement teams. Support the integration of Data and Analytics (D&A) in audits, including data extraction and analysis. Utilize various technologies and data analysis tools such as AI, Excel, Alteryx, SQL, and Power BI to implement substantive audit procedures, and assist in preparing related documentation. Qualifications: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a Bachelor of Accountancy, Master of Accountancy, or a similar program. On track to meet the educational prerequisites for CPA licensure in the state of the office where this position is located (completion of required academic credits before starting as an Audit Associate). Following the internship, candidates will need further academic credits to graduate and/or fulfill CPA eligibility. Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher. Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean, capable of effectively communicating in both languages in a business context. Preferred coursework or a minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data analytics; experience with data analysis tools such as Alteryx or Power BI is advantageous. Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Ability to efficiently use various computer applications, particularly MS Office (with a focus on Excel), and a willingness to learn KPMG Audit tools and client applications. A strong service-oriented mindset; excellent communication, time management, and relationship-building skills; demonstrate sound professional judgment and skepticism; flexible and adaptable team player; resourceful in providing high-quality work; project management skills are a plus. Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to the office and have the means to travel to client sites as needed, using personal or public transportation. Audit professionals are expected to work in person at a KPMG office or client site approximately three days per week; some client locations may necessitate travel and potential overnight stays (subject to office requirements).
