This is a full-time traveling position, initially assigned to a project in Bowling Green, Ohio. All candidates must be prepared to travel up to 100% of the time depending on project requirements. Role Summary The Supervisor of Fiber and Building Technology Development will lead and execute complex projects focused on intelligent integration. This role involves managing our technology partners, coordinating construction workflows, and ensuring projects meet their deadlines and profitability goals in alignment with JE Dunn's values. Decision-Making Authority: Make decisions within designated limits of authority and consult with supervisors for other decisions. Career Advancement: Potential to advance to Senior Aptitude Superintendent. Core Responsibilities Promote and teach our safety culture, guiding staff in maintaining an injury-free workplace. Instruct clients and project stakeholders on effective communication regarding fiber optic and building technology systems. Facilitate coordination between design and construction teams to ensure compliance with quality and financial standards. Train staff, subcontractors, and suppliers on best practices for safety, quality, and equal employment opportunities in technology scopes. Oversee the development and implementation of plans for installations of low voltage and fiber optic systems. Guide the management of materials and equipment for technology installations. Coach staff on project scheduling and collaborate with project managers for timely adjustments. Teach strategies for effectively communicating essential project information to stakeholders. Instruct on the maintenance of project documentation, including drawings and logs. Support management of budgets, costs, and project review preparations. Encourage the enforcement of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles among team members. Additional Key Responsibilities Manage complex projects from initiation through to successful completion. Maintain responsibilities for quality, safety, and productivity on assigned projects. Identify and actively manage project risks related to the scopes of work. Collaborate on project pursuits and involve in negotiations with owners and architects. Utilize extensive knowledge of Low Voltage Systems Connections in daily deliverables. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to perform tasks accurately and in a timely manner. Strong understanding of low voltage technology systems (structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, etc.). Effective communication skills for presentations and stakeholder interactions. Experience in managing budgets and building relationships for future work. Basic understanding of blueprint reading and project processes. Education High School Diploma or GED (Required). Bachelor's Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (Preferred). Experience 5+ years of construction experience with a focus on teaching or mentoring (Required). 5+ years in Division 8/23/25/27/28 related systems, including fiber and building technology (Required). 3+ years of experience leading, coaching, or supervising field teams (Required). Working Environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel as project needs arise. Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
