Requisition ID: 43488BR Business Unit: TSU Join Our Team: We invite you to become an essential part of our dynamic team at CDM Smith as a Senior Environmental Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to engage in a diverse array of impactful environmental projects, specifically focusing on solid waste management, landfill design, and permitting in North Carolina. Your Responsibilities Include: Serving as a vital liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders. Independently addressing technical aspects within your specialty area. Supporting sales personnel in business development initiatives within your expertise. Leading and mentoring technical and professional staff, fostering their growth. Planning, coordinating, and directing multiple projects, ranging from small to large-scale projects with significant complexity. Overseeing a team of typically 5 to 10 engineers and scientists. Assessing project progress, proposing major adjustments to meet overall objectives. Conducting advanced research to address intricate problems. Staying updated on innovative methods and developments to recommend improvements to current or future programs. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam; must obtain EIT within 18 months if it’s not available in your state. A minimum of 5 years of related experience. Some domestic and/or international travel may be necessary, contingent on projects. Preferred Qualifications: North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) registration and over 5 years of experience in solid waste/landfill design, permitting, and construction in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. A passion for expanding managerial and technical skills. Experience supervising and mentoring junior engineers, as well as managing construction projects.
