MORTGAGE SERVICING OVERSIGHT SUPERVISOR WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? Join our dynamic team as a Mortgage Servicing Oversight Supervisor, where you will lead our mortgage servicing operations with a passion for compliance and performance excellence. This pivotal role involves managing vendor relationships, ensuring our subservicers adhere to contractual obligations and regulatory requirements. You will play a crucial part in developing and implementing controls for servicing regulatory themes, conducting regular audits, and establishing a comprehensive data scorecard to monitor our key performance indicators. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Act as the main point of contact for sub-servicers, ensuring seamless communication and coordination. Assess and enhance sub-servicer performance in alignment with contractual obligations and performance standards. Design and implement controls for servicing regulatory themes to guarantee compliance with legal standards. Perform regular audits of subservicer operations and compliance practices, identifying improvement areas. Create a data scorecard to effectively track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to compliance and service delivery. Drive training initiatives for subservicer staff on compliance standards and best practices. Update training materials in response to regulatory changes. Establish consistent documentation standards to ensure accountability in operations. Compile and present in-depth reports on vendor performance, compliance issues, and risk management to senior leadership. Maintain a feedback loop to continuously refine controls and scorecards based on performance data and stakeholder input. Stay up to date on regulatory changes to adjust processes accordingly. Collaborate with internal departments (Analytics, Legal, Risk) to align vendor performance with compliance objectives. Oversee default-related activities managed by subservicers, including collections, loss mitigation, bankruptcy, and foreclosure. Resolve any issues or breaches of service level agreements promptly. Lead the development of our mortgage department, focusing on strategy, staffing, and revenue goals. Create a robust suite of mortgage products and services. Establish policies and workflows to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. Recruit, train, and manage our Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) and operations staff. Foster growth and profitability within the mortgage division. Ensure underwriting standards are met and loans comply with regulatory guidelines. Manage vendor relationships and mortgage software applications. Represent the bank in community and civic activities to enhance our presence. Oversee foreclosure and bankruptcy processes, managing files related to default law. Ensure effective case management and cost allocation within the sub-servicer's attorney network. Standardize insurance policy procedures to improve the customer experience and ensure compliance. Conduct evaluations of sub-servicing activities with particular focus on insurance matters. Establish strong quality control measures to maintain exceptional service standards. Work with stakeholders to assess the impact of climate factors on affordability and Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) valuations. Train team members and strategic partners on best practices related to foreclosure and bankruptcy. Assist the Sub-Servicing Oversight Team to ensure all sub-servicers comply with standards and regulations. Engage with investors and insurers to advocate for beneficial policies. Take on special projects or strategic initiatives assigned by senior leadership. Perform additional duties as needed, which may include travel. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. 12+ years of mortgage servicing experience encompassing risk management and strategic decision-making. At least 5 years of Mortgage Default Experience. A minimum of 5 Years of Mortgage Subservicing Experience. Additional Qualifications In-depth knowledge of mortgage regulations and guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac). Experience in running servicing operations and establishing comprehensive oversight controls for a bank. Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical abilities. Proficiency in loan origination software (e.g., Encompass) and Microsoft Office. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate effectively. A talent for critical and strategic thinking, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Effective problem-solving capabilities with a focus on structure in complex situations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office technologies (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio). WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation: Starting base salary: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
