PRIMARY PURPOSE: As an Auto Field Appraiser, you will handle field appraisal assignments for our corporate fleets and insurance clients, focusing primarily on autos. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Set same-day appointments to inspect vehicles within 24 hours and write estimates car-side. Expected to write 6 to 10 estimates per day depending on location. Ensure proper vehicle tear down. Determine repair time allotments and required labor operations. Make accurate repair/replace decisions. Assess and apply pre-existing damage and complete accurate total loss evaluations. Negotiate agreed prices with shop decision makers and set time-bound expected completion dates per Client Guidelines. Review and assess the validity of all supplement requests. Proactively provide customers with information regarding their vehicle's cost of repair estimate and explain the claims/repair process. Maintain accurate vehicle costs of repair estimates and explain claims/repair processes. Negotiate advanced fees for towing, tear down, and storage on vehicles that are deemed total losses at repair facilities or tow yards. Deliver exceptional customer service to all parties involved in the claims process. Perform other duties as assigned by management as needed. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the quality assurance team when not in the field and be available for desk appraisal work. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Licensing: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, but not required. Required licensing and professional certifications applicable to the line of business are preferred. If licensing is required for the role, completion of training and testing must occur within 60 days. Experience: Four (4) years of insurance or body shop experience is required. Skills & Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of auto appraisals. Understanding of client operations and labor regulations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office products. Analytical and interpretive skills. Strong organizational skills. Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills. Good judgment and discretion. Able to manage multiple projects and set priorities. Able to work effectively in a team environment. Capacity to meet or exceed Performance Competencies. Experience with CCC One is a plus. WORK ENVIRONMENT This is a field appraisal position requiring independence and the ability to manage your local territory while scheduling your workday effectively. Mental: Required skills include clear thinking, excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analysis, and discretion while handling work-related stress and multiple priorities simultaneously to meet deadlines. Physical: Duties include computer keyboarding and the ability to travel locally as required. Auditory/Visual: Must have the ability to hear, see, and communicate effectively. Pay Transparency Disclosure: As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. The starting pay range for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 annually.
