As a Lead Applied Scientist in our Data Science organization, you will spearhead the development of advanced models that navigate crucial trade-offs to generate business value. What You'll Be Doing (Job Duties): Build and implement robust causal inference models to assess the overall business impact of new product launches (e.g., PSM, Double ML). Establish standards for evaluating the success of new products and feature launches. Mentor and provide guidance to other members of the data science team. Collaborate with senior leadership to inform our product development process as a trusted thought partner. What We Look For In You: A PhD or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Economics or Statistics, coupled with over 8 years of industry experience. Strong expertise in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis and statistical modeling programming languages. In-depth theoretical and applied knowledge of various quasi-experimental methods. A proven track record in influencing business and product strategy through data-driven, causal insights, and the ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders. Demonstration of our core cultural values: clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution. Nice to Haves: Experience in the fintech or cryptocurrency sectors. Familiarity with pricing models, marketing attribution, or customer lifetime value modeling. Understanding the unique challenges and opportunities presented by cryptocurrency businesses and blockchain data. Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position can range from $207,485 to $275,000 USD. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity opportunities, and benefits (such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
