Join a Reputable Heavy Civil Contractor! A well-established heavy civil contractor with over 75 years of excellence in infrastructure projects is looking for a skilled Civil Estimator to enhance their preconstruction and bidding efforts. If you are passionate about construction and have experience in estimating, this role could be the perfect fit for you! Key Areas of Focus: Earthwork Roadway construction Utilities (waterline, storm, sanitary sewer) Concrete flatwork Concrete structures Deep foundations Main Responsibilities: Thoroughly review drawings, specifications, and proposals to fully understand project requirements. Conduct accurate takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment. Create comprehensive cost breakdowns and bid items. Evaluate labor, production rates, subcontractor quotes, and market pricing. Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to receive competitive and timely quotes. Identify project risks and assist with internal bid reviews. Compile complete bid packages and facilitate preconstruction planning. Foster strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Mathematics, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in construction or a related estimating role. Solid knowledge of heavy civil construction principles and project sequencing. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Able to read and interpret plans, specifications, and proposals. Valid driver's license.
