As an intern supporting our Heart Challenge, Go Red for Women, and Heart Ball events, you will be instrumental in driving the success of these vital campaigns. Your responsibilities will encompass various tasks that aid in the planning, execution, and follow-up of these life-saving initiatives. Internship Overview: Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week Internship Duration: 5/18/26-8/21/26 Location: Remote Salary: $23.00 per hour Internship Outcomes: This internship offers a unique opportunity to: Develop essential and practical job skills for success in a non-profit setting. Explore potential career pathways within a renowned health/service organization. Enhance your academic and professional resume while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Responsibilities Assist with developing and implementing fundraising activities, logistics, and administrative support for the region. Collaborate with Event Coordinators, Development Directors, and Market Leadership to support the Go Red for Women, Heart Challenge, and Heart of Hampton Roads fundraising campaigns. Support pre-campaign planning, event execution, and post-campaign wrap-up projects. Engage in external communication with donors, volunteers, and third-party vendors through calls and emails. Develop and update marketing materials for campaigns, including save the dates, invitations, social media posts, and volunteer rosters. Assist with managing volunteers and preparing for both in-person and virtual meetings. Conduct prospect research to identify new leads for fundraising initiatives. Qualifications Current seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, ideally with a focus on marketing, event planning, public relations, or public health related to fundraising. Comfortable with vendor outreach through phone and email communication. Experience or interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising. Prior experience in event planning for either non-profit or for-profit organizations. Strong skills in effective communication and the ability to work professionally with community leaders, volunteers, and staff. Proficient in various social media platforms. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities. Intermediate to excellent skills in Microsoft Office and Canva. Reliable WiFi connection is required. Availability of at least 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, both now and in the future.
