PRIMARY PURPOSE: Take charge of national claims and losses of varying complexity while tackling even the most intricate adjustment issues. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluate insurance policies and claims records to determine coverage. Manage and reconcile complex catastrophic property claims. Engage with claimants and witnesses through interviews, calls, and correspondence. Review police and hospital records and inspect property damage to assess the company’s liability. Estimate repair, replacement, or compensation costs. Compile reports of your findings and negotiate settlements with claimants. Suggest litigation when settlements cannot be reached. Attend litigation hearings as necessary. Update reserves in claims files to reflect probable costs. Prepare loss experience reports to assess profitability and to help set appropriate future rates. Collaborate with excess carriers to clarify coverages and reimbursement opportunities. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other tasks as assigned. Travel as needed for the role. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Licensing: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Must hold the IIA-AIC designation and actively pursue additional professional insurance designations. Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Skills & Knowledge: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC applications. Exceptional customer service abilities. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team. Capability to meet or exceed performance expectations. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Consideration for reasonable accommodations will be given when applicable. Candidates must have strong mental clarity, excellent judgment, and the ability to manage work-related stress while meeting simultaneous priorities and deadlines. Physical: Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods, kneel, squat, or bend, work outdoors in variable weather conditions, lift or carry up to 50 pounds, push or pull up to 100 pounds, drive for up to 4 hours daily, and maintain manual dexterity. Auditory/Visual: Strong hearing, vision, and communication skills are required. The duties outlined are a general overview and may evolve at management's discretion. Sedgwick provides equitable compensation that varies based on factors such as skill set and experience, with a starting pay range for this role between $77,321.00 - $108,250.00, plus eligibility for bonuses or commissions.
