Be a part of our mission to prioritize health! The Principal Proposal Quality Leadership role is crucial in enhancing quality improvement initiatives for Medicaid proposals. In this position, you'll establish annual quality benchmarks, develop execution plans, and assess outcomes. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in proposal development and will play an integral role in shaping our RFP responses, ultimately improving team efficiency. As the Principal in this role, you will oversee the Quality Improvement function within Humana's Medicaid Proposal Development processes, ensuring compliance, monitoring proposal quality, and promoting continuous improvement. You will manage our proposal quality system and partner with senior leaders to formulate and execute proposal strategies. As an acknowledged expert in your field, you will provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on critical opportunities to enhance the proposal process. You will be responsible for designing and implementing an enterprise-level Proposal Quality Operating System, utilizing predictive analytics and governance to boost win rates and reduce risks associated with complex bids. Your role includes participating in color team reviews for each RFP, identifying areas for improvement in writing and management processes, and overseeing the Mock Scoring process for each RFP response. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Strategy Advancement (Proposals), you will collaborate with Proposal Directors, Senior Vice Presidents in the Medicaid Segment, and other senior enterprise leaders who are experts in the proposal process. Leverage your expertise to make a tangible difference! Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 8+ years of Medicaid proposal development experience, with significant involvement in proposal writing, management, and quality functions. Demonstrated success in designing and governing enterprise-level proposal quality frameworks, with standardized processes, metrics, and strategies for continuous improvement. Expertise in proposal evaluation methodologies, including color team reviews, mock scoring, compliance validation, and post-submission analysis. Capability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating proposal performance data into actionable enterprise-wide strategies. In-depth knowledge of RFP compliance, scoring criteria, and evaluator expectations, with the ability to influence proposal strategies for enhanced competitiveness and winning potential. Exceptional writing and editorial judgment, able to evaluate narrative effectiveness and strategic alignment at the executive level. Proven leadership in collaborative environments, effectively working alongside proposal directors, content leaders, SMEs, and senior executives to ensure cohesive execution. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, Communications, or related fields. Experience using performance metrics and analytics to enhance proposal quality and win rates. Successful history leading enterprise change initiatives in proposal governance or content strategy. Prior experience in a Principal or Lead role, overseeing proposal quality or strategy across various business lines. Strong executive presence, skilled at influencing decisions among senior stakeholders without direct authority. Experience in people leadership, including mentoring and developing high-performing proposal or quality teams. Additional Information Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Time (ET), with flexibility for after-hours or weekend work as needed. Work Location: United States (remote) Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel may be necessary. Internet Requirements To ensure effective work-from-home capabilities, employees must have a self-provided internet service with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps. Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Compensation Range The salary range for this position is $115,200 to $158,400 per year, reflecting a good faith estimate based on skills and experience. This role is also eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on individual and company performance.
