Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights Employment Type: Travel Med Surg Tele RN – Hartford Satellite Unit Shift: 36 hours/week | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM Duration: 13 Weeks Patient Ratio: 1:7–8 Unit: 23-Bed Medically Complex Satellite Unit Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Med Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 23-bed Hartford Satellite Unit. This unit provides comprehensive treatment and rehabilitative services for patients requiring 24-hour nursing care due to medically complex conditions and chronic health needs. The RN will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing a diverse caseload in a fast-paced clinical environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms and promptly communicate changes. Manage a patient ratio of 1:7–8 while maintaining safety and quality standards. Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans. Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments per protocol. Coordinate interdisciplinary care with physicians, therapists, case management, and support staff. Support patients requiring rehabilitative services and complex discharge planning. Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, and post-discharge care. Document accurately and timely in the EMR system. Respond effectively to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
