Job Description The Manager of Quality Assurance and Food Safety plays a vital role in ensuring that our food production processes adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is responsible for the creation, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of our Quality, Food Safety, Sanitation, and Regulatory programs. You will lead the charge in fostering a robust culture of food safety from the moment raw materials enter our facilities until the finished products are ready for distribution. Key Responsibilities Oversee and guide the Quality & Food Safety department, managing daily functions, strategic initiatives, and team development. Formulate, execute, and uphold comprehensive food safety and quality policies and procedures. Function as the SQF Practitioner, PCQI, and HACCP Coordinator. Manage the SQF certification process and direct all third-party food safety audits. Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory and certification agencies, including SQF, FSMA, GFCO, Kosher, and GFFP. Create, maintain, and annually validate SQF and HACCP programs. Lead initiatives for environmental monitoring and laboratory testing, including assessments for Listeria, Salmonella, and microbial testing. Champion continuous improvement efforts and corrective actions across various departments. Collaborate with teams in Production, Maintenance, Warehousing, Transportation, and New Product Development to ensure food safety is integrated into every aspect of our operations. Investigate customer complaints, ensuring timely corrective measures are put in place and documented. Mentor and guide Quality & Food Safety team members to foster their professional growth. Support the commissioning, qualification, and verification (CQV) processes for new equipment, processes, and products. Ensure full compliance with FSMA, Organic, Kosher, Gluten-Free, and other relevant regulatory programs. Qualifications At least 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience in the Quality and Food Safety sector of food manufacturing. Extensive knowledge of SQF, FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, and PCQI requirements. Experience in leading audits and regulatory inspections effectively. Demonstrated leadership and communication skills across cross-functional teams. A hands-on mindset with the capability to influence workplace culture and behaviors.
