Overview: The Woodlands at Canterfield, a brand new Assisted Living and Memory Support community located in West Dundee, Illinois, is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Life Enrichment Coordinator to join our team. Position Summary: As a Life Enrichment Coordinator (LEC) within the Life Enrichment department, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by fostering engagement and a sense of community. Your responsibilities will include planning and implementing a wide range of recreational and therapeutic activities that promote the 7 dimensions of wellness. You will work collaboratively with various departments to ensure that residents experience optimal well-being. The work schedule is Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities: Actively promote and advocate for Life Enrichment services within the community to create an engaging atmosphere. Encourage and inspire residents to participate in daily activities, including both scheduled and impromptu engagement opportunities. Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing monthly calendars, answering phones, and managing documentation. Lead and facilitate both group and one-on-one activities to enhance resident engagement. Help plan, organize, implement, and evaluate a variety of events and activities. Safely escort residents to and from activities. Operate the community bus for outings and appointments, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines. Complete necessary documentation to meet regulatory compliance. Utilize community engagement and medical records systems effectively. Participate in meetings, including care plans and in-services. Assist with volunteer coordination and community pet maintenance, if applicable. Maintain organized and clean activity spaces for resident engagement. Support the setup and cleanup of seasonal and celebratory decorations. Participate in ongoing training and continuing education. Help manage department supply inventory and support new associate training. Perform additional duties as assigned and comply with all policies and procedures. Position Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or GED Licenses/Certifications: Not applicable Experience: Preferred experience working with seniors (up to 1 year), with an emphasis on senior activity engagement (1+ years preferred) Skills & Abilities: Strong communication skills and the ability to express joy, compassion, and professionalism towards residents and staff. Creativity in generating interest and excitement around community activities and events. Basic technology skills are required. Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
