This position is based in our Rockledge, FL office and will involve occasional travel (day trips) to multiple job sites throughout Central, East, and West Florida as needed. Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of estimators, setting high standards and ensuring the timely and precise preparation of all bids. Review and interpret intricate project plans, blueprints, and specifications to identify necessary costs, risks, and opportunities. Oversee detailed calculations of project costs, including labor, materials, transportation, and fees. Manage the complete bid cycle to guarantee the accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability of bids and proposals. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to clarify project scope and resolve issues. Establish and implement departmental standard operating procedures, manage the estimating budget, and generate departmental reports. Maintain the automated estimating system, including labor rates, commodity rates, margins, overheads, etc. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Bid2Win), Quotesoft, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills along with exceptional leadership and communication abilities. In-depth understanding of construction processes, market conditions, and project management principles. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
