Position Overview This position empowers you to perform electrical engineering tasks with minimal supervision while supporting crucial project phases. You will contribute to electrical calculations, code research, and coordination across various disciplines, promoting teamwork and emerging mentorship. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design development process and execute electrical calculations for assigned systems during schematic, design development, and construction documents phases. Conduct lighting and power load calculations, feeder sizing, short circuit studies, and verify NEC compliance independently. Create and prepare technical documentation for electrical systems, including specifications and schedules. Develop and assess electrical layouts in Revit, ensuring regular coordination with architectural and structural elements. Collaborate with internal teams (mechanical, plumbing, lighting) and external consultants to resolve design conflicts effectively. Review and address electrical RFIs and submittals, with guidance from senior engineers when necessary. Perform field verification for electrical setups, assist with punch walks, and participate in construction observation visits. Engage in project strategy discussions and provide electrical technical insights to project leads. Participate in internal quality assurance processes, conducting peer reviews for compliance and accuracy. Begin mentoring junior electrical designers and interns, sharing knowledge on software, modeling practices, and standards. Contribute to project meetings by preparing agendas, minutes, and follow-up documentation focused on electrical scope. Track and manage project hours and assist in planning discussions about project scope and resources. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent. Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure is required. 5+ years of experience in the AEC Industry, with a focus on designing electrical solutions for crime labs, medical examiner labs, or similar facilities. Understanding of financial project dynamics, cost budgeting, and client relationship management is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Experience with Revit is required. Proficiency in using computers for word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, with a passionate and curious mindset. Able to thrive in team settings under deadline constraints. Physical Requirements: Prolonged sitting at a desk and computer work. Effective verbal and written communication via various mediums. Visual acuity for performing responsibilities.
