Company: We are a premier heavy civil contractor focused on delivering high-impact transportation and infrastructure projects throughout the United States. Our specialties include intricate structural work, bridge retrofits, transit systems, and extensive public infrastructure initiatives. Currently, we are advancing a Seismic Retrofit Project, a technically sophisticated and nationally significant venture aimed at enhancing the structural resilience of one of the world's most iconic bridges. We are looking for a talented and experienced Cost Analyst to play a crucial role in cost development, bid preparation, and project analysis for this landmark project, as well as related bridge and seismic undertakings. Position Overview: As a Construction Cost Analyst assigned to a project, you will report directly to the Project Manager or the designated Deputy Project Manager, with dual reporting to the Chief Estimator or a Senior Estimator based on your experience. Major Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare comprehensive preliminary cost estimates, budgets, and schedules. Create and maintain an updated list of subcontractors and vendors for bidding. Conduct accurate quantity surveys and take-offs. Request and gather bid information from subcontractors, partners, and suppliers. Distribute and manage bid plans effectively. Compile pricing pages for submissions. Ensure that bid documents are current, including any addendums received, and maintain them on the shared drive and sharefile for subcontractor access. Facilitate the delivery of bids, proposals, and prequalification documents to project Owners. Manage WBE, DBE, SBE, and/or MBE goals as necessary throughout the bidding process. Lead in-depth reviews of subcontractor scopes and pricing before contract awards. Foster and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing, delivery, and quality. Skills/Qualifications: Self-motivated, cooperative, and enthusiastic about working in a team-oriented environment. Ability to work late hours and demonstrate flexibility during pre-bid submission periods. Strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and an eye for detail. Capable of securing competitive pricing from multiple subcontractors. Responsive to communication via calls, texts, and emails, with the ability to swiftly identify optimal pricing options. Understanding of minority goals and ability to calculate required pricing from designated subcontractors. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Familiarity with software such as HCSS, HeavyBid, PlanSoft, and other heavy civil construction bid and management tools. Experience with sharing platforms like ShareFile and SharePoint, and organizing estimating folders efficiently. Innovative, resourceful, and proactive in approaching tasks.
