Senior Mechanical QA/QC Inspector

Job Description Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanical QA/QC Inspector to support a complex, schedule-driven construction project in Monks Corner, South Carolina. This role focuses on quality assurance, code compliance, and error prevention across mechanical HVAC and piping systems on large-scale projects such as data centers, airports, and industrial facilities. This is not an installation role. The ideal candidate is a seasoned mechanical inspector who can operate independently, identify issues before they become rework, and communicate effectively with project leadership, contractors, and owners. Key Responsibilities • Perform QA/QC inspections of mechanical HVAC and piping installations • Verify compliance with applicable mechanical codes, standards, and approved drawings • Identify installation issues early to prevent rework, schedule delays, and cost overruns • Document inspection findings clearly and professionally • Communicate observations and recommendations with general contractors, owners, and trade partners • Support project teams by collaborating on solutions prior to field execution • Serve as a trusted authority on mechanical code compliance in the field Required Qualifications • Strong working knowledge of mechanical codes and standards • Experience inspecting HVAC and piping systems on large or complex construction projects • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Comfortable working in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments Preferred Experience • ICC Commercial Mechanical Inspector Certification ( A BIG PLUS ) QA/QC or special inspection experience on data centers, airports, or industrial/manufacturing facilities • Experience working directly with owners, general contractors, and inspection teams • Background on multi-trade, high-risk construction projects Compensation and Benefits • Hourly pay range of $37-$44 per hour based on experience
