Job Details Location: Jackson, TN 38301 - Tennessee travel nurse opportunity Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nursing) Unit: PCU (A9 - Pulmonary, Cardiac/Pulmonary Telemetry) Start Date: March 16, 2026 End Date: June 15, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15) Shift Duration: 12-hour nights Hours per Week: 36 Orientation Hours: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890 Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics Unit Size: 42 beds, daily census ~40 Patient Ratios: 4-5:1 (days/nights/weekends) Charting System: Epic EMR (recent Epic experience required) Floating: May float to other Med-Surg/Tele units or low-acuity ICU as needed Job Requirements Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/Stepdown/Telemetry RN experience required (travel experience preferred; first-time travelers and local candidates accepted) License: Active Tennessee RN license or Compact RN license (multistate) Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS (all required at submission) Charting: Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months (must be clearly documented; competency exam required) Immunizations: COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) Preferred: Previous charge nurse experience and community hospital background Fit Test Requirement: Men must be clean-shaven to pass a Fit Test; failure related to facial hair is not accepted. Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac and pulmonary telemetry patients in a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Perform comprehensive assessments, continuous telemetry monitoring, and interpret/manage cardiac dysrhythmias Participate in rapid response and code teams; provide pre/post care for cardiac procedures including MI care, cardiac cath, and post-op cardiac surgery management Administer and manage IV insulin, heparin protocols, blood products, and central/PICC line care Care for ventilated patients and manage BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomies, and chest tubes as required Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and radiology Float safely to similar units (Med-Surg/Tele, low-acuity ICU) as needed while maintaining patient safety and quality standards Document accurately in Epic EMR and adhere to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and telemetry best practices Apply now to join a supportive Progressive Care Unit team in Jackson, TN.
