Level 1 Fabricator

Position Summary: The Level 1 Fabricator Supports the fabrication of structural steel components including beams, columns, and plates in a production shop environment. This entry level role focuses on safe work practices, learning fabrication processes, and assisting experienced fabricators and welders with steel preparation and assembly. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Assist in the fabrication of structural steel components such as beams, columns and base plates Measure, mark, and prepare structural steel using tape measures, squares, and calipers Perform cutting, grinding, beveling, cleaning, and deburring of steel materials Operate basic shop equipment including band saws, drill presses, grinders, and forklifts Read and follow shop drawings and work instructions with guidance Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and PPE requirements Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED ( or equivalent experience) Ability to accurately read a tape measure to 1/16" and calipers Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn structural steel fabrication Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical work in a shop environment Reliable attendance and ability to work as a part of a team Work Environment & Physical Demands: Indoor industrial fabrication shop Exposure to noise, sparks, fumes, dust, welding arcs, and heavy steel materials Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion
