Allegheny Health Network Allegheny Health Network is seeking a professional for a full-time position at Allegheny General Hospital. The role involves steady nights from 7pm to 7am, with rotation for weekends and holidays as per policy. The position is unionized and is located on the 7A unit, which comprises 40 beds and specializes in neuro, cranies, strokes, and some back surgeries. The unit also handles cervical and lumbar surgeries, post-op pituitary tumor resections, brain tumors, MVA, gunshots, encephalopathic brain cases of unknown origin, rabies, Lymes, Cruechfelt-Jacob, Guillian bare, myasthenia gravis, and off-service medical patients. Allegheny General Hospital is a Level I Shock Trauma Center with five state-of-the-art ICUs and a state-of-the-art Cancer Center, comprising 550+ beds. The general overview of the role includes being responsible and accountable for a designated patient population for the purpose of providing care based upon enactment of the nursing process. Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills. Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements. Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge. Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate, Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate, Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate, CPR American Heart Association, and Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Preferred qualifications include a BSN, 3 years' experience in clinical specialty, previous supervisory experience, and certification in area of specialty.
