This position is in our Colorado office (located in Thornton) and supports employees working in both office and field environments. We are seeking an HR professional who can provide consistent, hands-on HR leadership and support for our Colorado team. We Are Looking for Someone Like You: In this role you will own day-to-day human resource management for Murphy Companys Colorado office. The position requires an experienced HR generalist responsible for supporting employee relations, progressive discipline, recruitment planning & execution, onboarding, compliance (including all Colorado specific laws), and employee engagement initiatives. This position serves as a trusted advisor to Colorado leadership and partners closely with operational leaders to ensure consistent, fair, and legally compliant HR practices. While serious or complex matters will be escalated to the HR Director, this individual is expected to exercise independent judgment in routine employee relations and performance management matters. This role requires proactive communication and the ability to establish strong, trusted partnerships across all levels of the organization. Your Day-to-Day at Murphy Company: Serve as the primary HR point of contact for office and field-based employees Partner with Colorado leadership on employee relations matters, progressive discipline and performance concerns; conducting workplace investigations and escalating complex issues as appropriate Manage and execute recruitment planning and hiring processes for Colorado-based salaried and internship roles, in partnership with Murphy recruiter Manage new hire orientation and onboarding to ensure a smooth, consistent, and compliant new hire experience Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, with particular emphasis on Colorado employee leave coordination and pay transparency requirements Support employee engagement initiatives and assist in planning internal events Support managers in conducting performance management to include providing constructive feedback and performance reviews Oversee and support a two-person Administrative Team and their day-to-day activities Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation within HRIS (Paycor experience preferred) Bring Your A-Game! Our ideal candidate should possess the following traits: Bachelors degree or HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP) required 3-7 years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist or similar role Strong working knowledge of Colorado employment law and compliance requirements Experience managing employee relations and performance management processes Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment and maintain confidentiality Excellent relationship building, organizational, and communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms (Paycor experience a plus) What We Will Bring to the Table : Salary Range: $85,000 to $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company profitability A collaborative, family-friendly work environment Murphy Company offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with employer contribution, profit sharing, wellness incentives, and a robust PTO program
