Distribution Assistant Varsity Spirit, a Varsity Brands company, is looking to hire a Distribution Assistant to support our fast-paced shipping, receiving, and inventory operations. This role is a mix of clerical and hands-on warehouse work and will work closely with our shipping dock team. The position reports directly to the Distribution Supervisor. The work type is onsite in Edwardsville, KS 66111. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7am through 3:00pm. Full time team members work 8-hour shifts for 40 hours per week. Shift times may vary, and extra hours may be added to your schedule to ensure we fulfill our commitments to customers. During peak season (April - May), mandatory overtime includes some Saturdays. The Distribution Assistant will: Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory duties Schedule outbound shipments and coordinate pickups Create and track shipments Prepare shipping paperwork, labels, and documentation Communicate with vendors, carriers, customer service, and customers via phone/email Assist with office, general dock, and warehouse tasks assigned Qualifications include: Ability and willingness to operate skid jacks/pallet jacks Must be willing to be trained on forklift and reach truck equipment Ability and willingness to use shrink wrapping equipment Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer use Comfortable typing, emailing, and making phone calls Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask Fast learner with a strong ability to take instruction Must be flexible and willing to take on tasks that may change daily Must be able to work overtime during peak months (AprilMay); hours may shift based on workload Education/experience: HS diploma or GED (required) 1 - 2 years' experience in a warehouse/manufacturing setting Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a bonus Preference will be given to candidates with previous related experience At least 2-3 years of continued work experience Learn tasks quickly, is detailed, accuracy driven, personable, team oriented, and punctual with excellent attendance Must be very comfortable with Microsoft Office, with extensive experience with Microsoft Excel Physical requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
