Small Maintenance Contractor We are seeking a dependable small maintenance contractor to support multiple childcare facilities in the Iowa region on a part-time or subcontract basis. Work includes general repairs, safety corrections, and small facility projects scheduled as needed. Ideal for an independent facilities technician looking for consistent supplemental work across several locations. Scope of Work General building repairs and maintenance Minor plumbing and fixture repairs Basic electrical repairs within trade limits Drywall, patching, and painting touch-ups Doors, locks, and hardware repair Flooring and surface repairs Playground and safety-related fixes Small carpentry projects Licensing and inspection correction items Requirements 3+ years handyman or maintenance experience Own tools and reliable transportation required Ability to work independently Contractor registration and insurance preferred Experience in commercial or institutional buildings a plus Strong reliability and communication Compliance Requirements Must pass required state childcare background checks Must follow onsite child safety procedures Must comply with facility health and safety policies Schedule & Pay Part-time / as-needed Flexible scheduling Off-hours work often available Hourly or per-project rates negotiable Travel reimbursement possible depending on distance
