Preauthorization Specialist

A company is looking for a Preauthorization/Precertification Specialist I. Key Responsibilities Verify eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations for scheduled procedures and services Maintain communication with insurance companies and respond to inquiries from providers and patients Ensure accurate data entry for billing information and maintain departmental quality assurance standards Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 1-2 years of experience in patient accounting, patient access, or pre-arrival services, or equivalent education in accounting, finance, or healthcare administration Working knowledge of payer authorization processes and medical terminology Proficient in hospital registration/billing systems and Microsoft Excel and Word applications Ability to type 35 WPM
