Job Details Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Columbus, Ohio; Ohio nursing jobs; travel nursing jobs) Role: Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse / Critical Care Nurse (Cardiac Medical ICU) Setting: Cardiac Medical ICU (2 Ross CCU / ACU) Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026) Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30) – Night Shift ICU RN Hours per Week: 36 Patient Ratio: 1:1–2 (critical care / cardiac ICU) Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend On-call: None Orientation: 36 hours Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940-$2040/week Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (critical care nurse or ICU RN) Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license in hand at submission) – travel nurse eligible Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program EPIC charting experience required (EPIC proficiency preferred) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications only) Clinical skills: proficient in IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, arterial/central line care Familiarity with advanced cardiac support: IABP, Impella, CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring Ability to float to other critical care units within the health system as needed Two professional references (one must be a supervisor/manager/charge RN) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill adult patients with complex cardiac and medical diagnoses (e.g., ACS, MI, cardiogenic shock, post-interventional cardiac procedures, heart failure, TAVR) Manage secondary and comorbid conditions such as GI bleed, renal failure, pneumonia, diabetes, and multisystem illness Operate and monitor advanced devices and therapies: IABP, Impella, CRRT, ventilators, continuous hemodynamic monitoring Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips, and perform arterial/central line management Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response for coordinated patient care Maintain infection prevention standards and isolation precautions in line with hospital protocols Document care accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health record Float to other critical care units as needed to support patient volume and system needs Why Columbus, OH?
