Position Summary: TheQuality Managers is a hands-on position that will provide direction andleadership for the Contract Midwest and Kelch quality team including peoplemanagement as follows: managing performance; addressing disciplinary issues;hiring; assisting direct reports with career development; communicatinginformation to direct reports, passing information up the management chain andfostering open communication; ensuring team is aligned with and accomplishinggoals/objectives; and, maintaining trust and confidentiality while promoting ateam environment. Supervisor Responsibilities: Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the department. Mentor and guide direct reports. Oversee the daily workflow of the direct reports. Specific Responsibilities: Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Contract & Kelch Quality to support customer and operational needs. Provide leadership, direction and clear information to Quality Staff as well as manufacturing floor employees regarding product quality, quality systems requirements and operational methods. Act as a back-up for the quality team as needed (PPAP, complaint handling, production support, etc.). Participate in new product development initiatives representing quality. Lead the corrective actions to improve customer satisfaction. Coordinate new process techniques that improve overall job efficiencies. Be a resource for the initiation and implementation of cost improvement plans on new and existing programs. Coordinate scheduling & overseeing internal audits. This includes conducting internal audits. Assist in coordinating external (customer, regulatory) audits. Maintain QMS process and procedures that assure compliance with ISO 9001:2016 and other regulatory standards. Work with management to establish quality goals and objectives. Coordinate Management Review compilation and execution. Maintain Quality Metrics and coordinates data collection and trend analysis for Management Review and to support continuous improvement opportunities. Facilitate communications between customers, suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, and quality functions. Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a quality/engineering or management discipline. 7-9 years of progressive quality experience in a manufacturing environment. 3-5 years experience in a leadership/supervisory role. Certification/Experience as an internal or lead auditor (ISO 13485 or 9001). 5-7 years experience operating under a certified quality management system (e.g. TS:16949, ISO 9001:2015). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to fully understand customers' requirements. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a development team. Experience in plastics and plastic processes is a plus Strong problem solving and analytical skills as well as the ability to multi-task. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, sales, and customers Project management skills with a history of accomplishment. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, sales, and customers. Computer Skills: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Experience with other quality software applications beneficial. (e.g. statistical analysis). Proactive and acts without being prompted.
